10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Hershey Hall 158

The 2020 Computational & Systems Biology Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 12th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in Hershey Hall 158. The Ceremony will feature remarks by the Chair and the student valedictorian and/or other student speakers. Each student will be honored by having their name read and being presented with a certificate by the Chair. The event will conclude with a reception for graduates and guests with light refreshments.

Participating in CaSB Commencement

Computational & Systems Biology majors who are eligible to participate in the 2020 commencement ceremony will be contacted by email by the CaSB Undergraduate Office with directions on how to sign up for the CaSB Commencement ceremony. In order to sign up for the ceremony, graduates will be asked to fill out a senior survey.

CaSB majors who graduated in Fall 2019 (and did not participate in the Spring 2019 ceremony) or Winter 2020, and degree candidates for Spring and Summer 2020 are eligible to participate in CaSB Commencement. Degree candidates for Fall 2020 also have the option of participating in the 2020 CaSB ceremony. Departmental Scholars who have completed or will be completing their master’s requirements in the above terms are also eligible to participate.

Note, participation in Commencement activities is not the same as “Graduating.” Students who participate in Commencement are not guaranteed to earn a degree. Please consult with your UCLA College Counselor and the CaSB Counselor, Annelise Werhel, to confirm completion of degree requirements.

Each graduate will be permitted to bring up to two guests to the CaSB Ceremony. When students sign-up to participate in CaSB Commencement, they must indicate the number of guests they will be bringing (0-2). Due to venue capacity limits, additional guests cannot be guaranteed. When students sign up to participate in Commencement, they will be able to enter a lottery for an additional (3rd) guest reservation. Lottery winners will be notified by email if their third guest is confirmed.

There is no charge for guests or graduates to attend CaSB Commencement. On the day of the ceremony, guests and graduates will be checked in at the door. Every guest must be on the guest list. Seating for guests will be first-come, first-served. Graduates will sit together in the front rows of the venue.
