1/1/18. Vikash Singh, 4th year C&SB student delivers digital health monitoring to fight disease in Cameroon.
8/18/17. Teia Noel, 4th year C&SB student completes prestigious University of Washington Genome Sciences Undergraduate Summer Research Program. Her research project was entitled “Engineering Bacterial Biosensors based on Transcriptional Activation”.
5/17/16. Teia Noel, C&SB student is awarded a 2 year Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Undergraduate Fellowship.
9/23/15. C&SB announces the start of 5 yr BS-MS Deptl Scholar Pgm for Fall Qtr 2015. Qualified students can earn MS via Bioinformatics graduate IDP.
9/21/12. C&SB announces the start of the following minors pgm for students: Mathematical Biology, Structural Biology, Systems Biology & Bioinformatics.
4/23/12. Christine Kuo earns membership to Phi Beta Kappa.
3/31/11. Daniel Yazdi wins the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.
2/28/11. Seema Ullal is accepted into the Teach for America program and will begin teaching high school mathematics in Newark, New Jersey this coming Fall 2011.
11/6/10. Eric Levy presents a poster on his undergraduate research at the 2010 BCATS (Biomedical Computation at Stanford University Symposium).
10/25/10. Daniel Yazdi has been awarded the Howard Hughes Undergraduate Research Scholarship for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 academic school year.
9/25/10. Ashley Cass is accepted into the UCLA Undergraduate Research Scholars Program (URSP) for the 2010-2011 school year.
4/22/10. Jessica Tai is awarded a 2010 AT&T Summer Internship.
4/16/10. Erika Fong is accepted into the PhD program in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University for Fall 2010.
3/31/10. Sara Achour is awarded a 2010 Hewlett Packard Summer Internship.
3/24/10. Rotem Ben-Shachar receives the award of Honorable Mention at the 2010 AAAS Student Poster Competition in the category of Math, Technolgy, and Engineering.
3/12/10. Derek Macklin is accepted into the PhD program in Bioengineering at Stanford University for Fall 2010. In addition to his acceptance he is awarded a 2 year fellowship from Stanford University.
10/25/09. Rotem Ben-Shachar’s research project entitled “A Mathematical Model of Food Intake Effects on Human Serum Leptin” is accepted for a poster presentation for the 2009 Southern California Undergraduate Research Conference.
4/06/09. Ivan Rodriguez is accepted in the MARC (Minority Access to Research Careers)Program for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 academic school year.
3/12/09. Erika Fong is awarded the 2009 Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Undergraduate Summer Research Internship. The total award is for $4000.
2/19/09. Jason Sorger is awarded the 2009 Distinguished Senior Award by the UCLA Alumni Association.
